Obwohl die Sonne 400mal so groß ist wie unser Mond, erscheint sie uns doch die gleiche Größe am Himmel zu haben, da sie auch etwa 400mal soweit von der Erde entfernt ist wie der Mond.

All the planets with all their satellites together only make up the remaining 0.01%. The surface temperate of the sun is about +5.700°C with an inner temperature of about +15 million °C. Every second 464 million tons of hydrogen melt to helium. The resulting energy is hurled into all corners of space at a rate of 380 quintillion kilowatts. Our earth catches only 2 billionth of the sun’s energy. The distance between the sun and the earth is 8.3 light-minutes or 149,565,800 kilometers. Every 27 days the sun rotates around itself. Despite the fact that the sun is 400 times larger than the moon in the sky it appears to us to be the same size. This is due to the fact that the sun is also about 400 times as far away from the earth as is the moon.

Toutes les planètes, y compris leurs satellites, se partagent le centième de pour cent restant. La température du Soleil est d'environ 5.700 °C à la surface et 15 millions de degrés au centre. Là, 464 millions de tonnes d'hydrogène fusionnent chaque seconde en hélium. L'énergie ainsi produite est éjectée dans toutes les directions de l'espace, avec une puissance de 380 trilliards de kilowatts. Notre Terre ne capte que 2 milliardièmes de toute l'énergie solaire. Le Soleil se trouve à une distance de 8,3 minutes-lumière de la Terre, c'est-à-dire 149.565.800 km. Il tourne autour de son propre axe en 27 jours environ.
