about

Our sun is our richest source of electromagnetic energy, mostly in the form of heat and light. The nearest neighboring fixed star is a red gnome named Proxima Centauri, 4.3 light-years away. As many other stars in the nightly heaven, it is a part of our Milky Way, measuring approximately 200 trillion stars. Two smaller galaxies are visible from the southern hemisphere, the little and big Magellanic Clouds. The next largest galaxy is the Andromeda Fog, about 4 times larger than our Milky Way and an estimated 2 billion light-years away.
Our Milky Way is only one of around a million galaxies spinning through space.
